I’ve never been in a “life or death” situation (i.e. Jack Bauer situation), but I can only hope that if I am and there is a damsel in distress with me that she will not act like the girls on TV. I’m talking about the:
guy: stay here
girl: no I’m coming with you
guy: it really would be much safer if you stayed here
girl: don’t argue with me, I’m coming
or
guy: stay here
girl: ok
guy: TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS
girl: SNEAKING OUT TO HELP
bad guy: CAPTURES GIRL
guy: crap!
That whole routine is TIRED. Seriously, I can understand there is a highly elevated level of stress, and again I am basing this entirely off of an episode of 24, but I don’t think this is really the time to be arguing.
Just wondering if this is the case in actuality? Is it that they don’t want to be left behind? I probably wouldn’t, but its generally rare that you see the guys portrayed in that manner.
This happens in almost every episode of Doctor Who as well.. and often times its the same girl doing the same stupid thing over and over again. The problem is.. if the girl sits there and does nothing.. she looks like just a scaredy cat stupid girl who can’t do anything. Girls usually can actually do things. They just have to choose to not to stupid things.
I would not stay put. However, I would like to think that I would be a little sneakier & not get caught. Also, on Chuck, he never stays in the car & always gets caught.
When Matthew Quigley says stay in the cave, the girl stays in the cave even when Dingos try to eat her baby.
